Ragged School Museum
The Ragged School Museum in the East End of London recently underwent a refurbishment of its exterior, with Richard Griffiths Architects specifying Brouns & Co Linseed Paint.
Apart from the fact the the colours used Clotted Cream and Leaf Green were historically accurate, it was also linseed paint that was used when the building was constructed.
Dr Barnardo used the building from 1877 to 1908, during which time it operated as London’s largest free school for poor children. The museum now runs exciting programmes for schools and families, telling stories of the history of the East End from the Victorian era to the present day.
The exterior painting of the building was carried out by Bryen & Langley Ltd
