The most traditional of treatments, dating back centuries if not millennia. This is made from linseed oil and pine tar. For exterior wood treatment such as outbuildings, sleepers, bridges, fencing and decking. Simply apply by brush in thin coats for that brownish finish on pine.

Apply Tar Oil until the wood is saturated on the first coats, then once a year for the first 3 years with a refresher coat every 2-3 years thereafter.

Coverage can be between 7-15 m² per litre per coat. It depends on how absorbent and rough the timber is, as well as how many coats you want to apply.

Excellent product - totally converted

I wavered for some time on purchasing this product. The pictures weren’t clear of the effect, it seemed pricey, and the idea of a brown colour and 5 applications in the first 2 years were off putting. However I took a chance and it’s flipping brilliant. Glides on easily and fast, we’ve got a whole log cabin and decking to cover, so I tested on some garden furniture first, before committing to the cabin. Reapplying a number of times will be fast and easy, and the wood felt so nourished, the colour is natural, the smell strong but lovely, easy to clean up afterwards, and water repellant even on the first application. I’m totally converted now, and going to buy the largest pot and get my cabin covered as a little goes a long way.

Linseed Tar Oil - Beautiful product, pleasant and easy to apply

It was easy to apply, even for a beginner like me. lt looks great, just applied two coats, smells nice and complements the wooden shed really well. Great service too. Thank you Michiel and Helen!
