The most traditional of treatments, dating back centuries if not millennia. This is made from linseed oil and pine tar. For exterior wood treatment such as outbuildings, sleepers, bridges, fencing and decking. Simply apply by brush in thin coats for that brownish finish on pine.
Apply 2-3 coats of Tar Oil in the first year, a couple of coats in year two and one coat in year three, then the wood will not need further treatment for 10-12 years.
Coverage can be between 7-15 m2 per litre per coat. It depends on how absorbent and rough the timber is, as well as how many coats you want to apply.
